Johann Joachim

Johann Joachim Bellermann was an German theology professor at Berlin University and a Hebraist (the scholar of the Hebrew language).

Bellermann was born in the city of Erfurt in Germany. He graduated from the University of Göttingen and initially accepted a job as a teacher in Reval, Russia.

Four years later he returned to Erfurt where he became "Magister Legens" or "reading master" at the high school. Later he would become an assistant professor of theology at the University of Erfurt.

In 1804 Bellermann moved to Berlin where he appointed the director of the Gymnasium zum Grauen Kloster. He was named a professor of theology at the Berlin University.
